4 Days Waterfalls Trail – Discovering Over 6 Waterfalls : Beginning at Trekkers Hostel Kyanjuki, 12 kilometers from Kasese town near Kilembe Copper mines, this incredible adventure takes you through the heart of nature’s wonders. The journey begins around 8:30 am (though you can leave until 10 a) with guides briefing you. A simple walk at the UWA Rangers post, 2.2 km which is at 1,727 meters.
Day 1: The Sine Camp hike at 2,596 meters
Walk into an Afro Montane Forest Zone, surrounded by tall forest trees. As you ascend, you will be greeted by joyful chirping of birds, you may also get a chance to spot blue monkeys playing through the foliage. Keep on watch for groups of black and white Colobus monkeys and the L’Hoest monkey. The trail reveals plenty of plant life, from bamboo thickets to delicate flowers. Enock’s Falls, just 200 meters from Sine Hut, presents a breathtaking sight to capture.
Day 2: Reaching Samalira Camp at 3,170 meters
Ascend through the bamboo zone to Kalalama camp at 3,134 meters. Enjoy scenic views before entering the heather zone on your way to Samalira camp at 3,430 meters. Along the way, Samalira falls and a beautiful lobelia garden greet you. After this serene hike, relax at Samalira hut’s wooden cabins for dinner and night camping.
Day 3: Exploring the beautiful Waterfalls
After breakfast, get on a journey to view a series of waterfalls. Ascend to Kamalha falls ascend and take a loop at Cathy’s falls. If you are up for it, you can climb up to see Cathy’s falls. Continue to Nyamwamba falls and Plozza falls, perfect for a tranquil lunch break. Your adventure then takes you to Engwe falls before coming down to Forest View Camp at 2,580 meters, offering scenic views for your pleasure.
Day 4: Descending to Basecamp
As you descend through bamboo forests and Afro Montane Forest Zone, nature gives you company with twittering of birds and close up views of primates. Choose to descend or follow the path along the Nyamwamba River, surrounded by amazing trees and forests. Finally, return to the park entrance and Trekkers Hostel, completing your adventure.
