Tarangire National Park

The Tarangire National Park is home to numerous wildlife species and many bird species which can be seen during safaris in the northern part of Tanzania. The national park is crossed by the Tarangire River which is among the attractions found in Tarangire National Park. There are also baobab trees, savannah plains, and woodlands which make up the scenic landscape of the park.

Tarangire National Park is also made up of swamps found in the southern and eastern parts of the national park.

Best time to visit Tarangire National Park

The dry season from June to October is considered the best time to visit Tarangire National Park and wildlife species during this time of the year can be spotted by the Tarangire Riverbanks where they often come to quench their thirst.

The rainy season or wet season around March to May and in November, is less rewarding in terms of game viewing as animals migrate outside the park. Tourists can also enjoy bird watching in Tarangire National Park.

How to access Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park can be accessed by air or by road. By air, you can fly from Kilimanjaro or Arusha airport. By road, Tarangire National Park takes about three hours’ drive, approximately 140km from Arusha town.
